Job Description:
As the Violence Prevention Specialist you are responsible for: 1.) Presenting and collecting data on behalf of a unique and comprehensive Teen Dating Violence Prevention program delivered to middle and high school students and student-football athletes; 2.) Supporting PAVE’s Youth Community Educators Program (YCEP) team and Prevention Interns; 3.) Facilitating violence prevention work with our partnering non-profit, Street Fraternity; and 4.) Working in conjunction with PAVE’s Intervention Team.

Areas of Responsibility
Prevention Programming.

Facilitate Teen Dating Violence Prevention and Toxic Masculinity Prevention workshops in middle and high schools
Assist facilitating violence prevention work with the Street Fraternity staff, volunteers, and participants (boys and young men 14 – 25 years old –predominantly refugees, immigrants, and locals in the Denver/Aurora corridor of Colfax Ave.)
Assist the Director of Prevention Initiatives in supervision and support of YCEP and Prevention Interns
Work strategically with the Intervention Team to deliver Prevention programming in partner schools and at Street Fraternity
Provide crisis support for student participants and coordinate referrals as needed

Curriculum Development & Recordkeeping.

Participate in ongoing curriculum development for PAVE's prevention programs
Research and maintain awareness of advancements in teen dating violence, healthy masculinity, and domestic violence and related fields
Maintain consistency of data collection inputs on a monthly basis
Participate in the analysis and review of program evaluation data

Management & Operations.

Co-facilitate Prevention Team meetings with Director of Prevention Initiatives
Attend Staff team meetings and other PAVE functions and events
Serve on cross-functional teams outside of regular work responsibilities
Earned at a minimum an undergraduate degree in related field of study and/or a minimum of three years of experience working with adolescents in schools and/or community settings
Experience working in prevention education programs
Relevant knowledge of teen dating violence, toxic masculinity, sexual assault, domestic violence and child abuse
Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills
Strong ability to connect with adolescents
Proven ability as a classroom presenter and public speaker
Awareness and sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, and socio-economic differences
Ability to work within a team dynamic, internally and with agency partners and schools.
